Scam Pattern: Hanna Zubkova

The scammer introduces herself as Hanna Zubkova, a 31-year-old woman with red hair
and “European looks.” She builds trust through long romantic letters, full of warmth and emotional details
about her family, mother, stepfather, best friend Nadezhda, and her grandparents in the countryside.
Her tone is affectionate, always stressing how much the victim has changed her life and how grateful she is
for this “destined meeting.”

To strengthen credibility, she shares supposed hobbies and occupation: working as a biotechnologist,
doing strip dance as an artistic form of self-expression, drawing, cooking, and going to the gym.
She often sends photos and videos to appear genuine. These materials mix casual life scenes
(walking with friends, eating dinner, talking about family traditions) with
emotional confessions of love and trust.

Step by step, she raises the idea of a future meeting and asks the victim to imagine how their
first encounter could happen. At the same time, she insists on trust and openness as the foundation
of the relationship, pushing the victim to feel emotionally responsible for her well-being.

As in many romance scams, the correspondence eventually shifts toward financial requests.
She introduces difficulties such as debts, unpaid taxes, medical problems, or urgent travel expenses,
and asks for help via Western Union, cryptocurrency wallets, or other transfer methods.
The emotional investment built earlier makes victims more likely to comply.

This case represents a classic romance scam pattern: fake intimacy and staged vulnerability
used to prepare the ground for financial exploitation.
